Loughborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce and Jane Hunt MP have joined forces to host this year’s Loughborough Best Dressed Window Competition. The annual competition has returned following a break last year due to the General Election. The competition aims to celebrate independent traders in Loughborough and the surrounding area.
Open to all independent traders locally, the competition will be judged by a local panel on Small Business Saturday, which this year falls on 5th December. Businesses are asked to decorate their windows in a festive theme and make them as bright and colourful as possible! It’s an opportunity to showcase the best our area has to offer and the diverse range of business. Last time, the competition was won by the Emporium in Ward’s End.
Jane Hunt MP commented:
“This year has been particularly difficult for independent traders and small businesses, so we are as motivated as ever to give them a boost through these difficult times. They are the lifeblood of our communities; the backbone of our high streets and they are what makes our towns and villages distinctive. Having town and village centres full of attractive window displays undoubtedly not only have a positive effect on footfall but also contribute to the reputation of our area increasingly becoming a destination location for shoppers.”
Dermot Breen of Loughborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce said:
“I am pleased that the Chamber is teaming up with the Jane Hunt to bring back the Dressed Window Competition this year. I hope this will bring some much-needed joy to the Christmas Shopping Season.”
Register your entry by emailing a photo to: admin@loughboroughchamber.co.uk. Entries will then be judged by the panel who will reveal the winner shortly afterwards and award the winning business with their trophy.
